Respected Sir / Madam,
An 'Extended Executive Committee Meeting' of IMS Kolkata will be held on 06.09.2011, Tuesday, at 5 pm at Dr.S.K.Banerjee Seminar Hall, Regional Meteorological Centre Kolkata Office, Alipore.
All the members of IMS Kolkata 'Executive Committee', 'Editorial Board' and 'Publication Committee' are hereby requested to attend the meeting to discuss on the following agenda points:
1) Organizing a 'One Day Workshop' in November 2011
2) Discussion with the Editorial Board regarding publication of the journal “JHAR” to frame up the 'Guidelines to the Authors'
3) Financial issues regarding ‘November Workshop’ and ‘Jhar’
It is decided in the last Executive Meeting held on 09.08.2011, that articles in the following categories may be invited for publication in JHAR, (i) Popular Science, (ii) Scientific Article, (iii) News letter. JHAR may consist of about 50 pages and 150 copies will be printed. Guidelines for the authors to be framed by the Editorial Board, and will be published very soon at the website. Papers received from any author, irrespective of IMS membership, will be forwarded to the Editorial Board and accepted / edited articles will be published by the Publication committee.
Members of the Editorial Board are requested to kindly prepare their valuable inputs regarding Agenda Point # 2. It is also requested to hold dialogs / telecon between the board members and submit their individual inputs by email at least 2 days in advance, so that all inputs / views can be summed up and be placed in the meeting on 06.09.2011 and the final decision can be taken.
